After selling out every show on their September 2005 tour & spellbinding audiences with their humour, warmth & rich, emotional performances The Mountain Goats are, some might say by popular demand, returning to Australia for another run of shows this April. Centred around their slot at The Great Escape Festival in Sydney , this visit will see them once again play a series of intimate pub shows that should really not be missed. So if you did miss them in September get in quickly, & if you saw them, well you know how great this band are live so you'll be wanting to come again. Mountain Goats main-man, John Darnielle, is without doubt one of the most imaginative lyricists of his generation. Since he pressed record for the first time - more than a decade ago - skewed characters, vibrant images and perfectly-framed narratives have flowed in their hundreds. His last two albums, We Shall All Be Healed & The Sunset Tree , have built him a large & loyal following in Australia through such radio favourites as " Palmcorder Yajna ", " Letter From Belgium ", " Dance Music " & the anthemic " This Year ", with its chorus's backhanded bravado of "I'm going to make it through this year, if it kills me."
