BAAUER & YUNG LEAN
Adelaide September 2016
** STORMZY CANCELS AUS/NZ TOUR **
We regret to inform that, due to unforeseen circumstances, Stormzy has cancelled upcoming dates across the world, including his Australian tour for Listen Out festival, due to begin this week.
This means he cannot appear for his scheduled performance at Adelaide’s Thebarton Theatre on Friday 30th September, where he was to be joined by Brooklyn producer Baauer, Swedish emcee Yung Lean and local heroes Collarbones.
Stormzy released a statement this morning:
My g’s, it is with the heaviest of hearts I have to inform you that, with the exception of 1Xtra Live, the remainder of my live shows and festival appearances for 2016 have been postponed due to reasons out of my control. You lot know how much I love and enjoy performing so I hope you can envision and understand how sub-stantial the reasons are in order for me to make such a decision. For those of you that have already bought tickets to my own head-line shows, I hope to be announcing rescheduled dates very soon so stay tuned. Deepest apologies and big love as always, Stormz ❤
Now, joining Baauer, Yung Lean and Collarbones is 19-year-old Just A Gent.
Fewer artists deserve the title of “prodigy” more, after teaching himself to produce when he was still in primary school, Just A Gent quickly became renowned for his intricate production and fresh take on electronica. After gracing the stages of Listen Out and Splendour, taking on Kid Cudi on triple j’s Like A Version and remixing the likes of Alison Wonderland, Peking Duk and ZHU, Just A Gent recently unveiled his milestone EP Stories To Tell. Armed with a bunch of fresh material, including hit singles Heavy As A Heartbreak feat LANKS and Loaded, Just A Gent rarely constricts himself to a particular genre – and his special Adelaide performance is set to be unforgettable.
Refunds are available from Ticketmaster.com until Thursday 29 Sept.
We apologise for any disappointment or inconvenience caused.
** STORMZY CANCELS AUS/NZ TOUR **
Astral People, Handsome Tours & Rocket Bar are proud to present three of the world’s leading contemporary artists all in one space – Baauer & Yung Lean.
At the forefront of their respective genres, from organic hip hop beats to millennial rap, Baauer & Yung Lean each encapsulates a sonic style that has swept the world. This exclusive Thebarton Theatre performance on Friday 30th September, marks their only collective Adelaide appearance , while in Australia for Listen Out Festival.
After revolutionising the music industry with the viral hit ‘Harlem Shake’, Baauer cemented his place as an innovative driving force within the dance music scene. From his childhood bedroom to some of the world’s biggest festivals, Baauer’s bright, stadium, urban dance music has captivated fans and critics across the globe. On his debut album ‘Aa’, the Brooklyn-based producer furthers the void into his inimitable Baauer-specific universe.
Yung Lean is not simply a rapper, but a phenomenon. Born in 1996, the Swedish rapper exists in a universe of instant references to the pop culture that surrounds him. Through his debut EP Lavender, Lean introduced the world to what was to become his trademark sound. Blending melancholy with Pokemon, Lean’s new age emotional hip-hop quickly garnered the Sad Boys a worldwide cult-following. His second album, Warlord (Deluxe), sheds a mature light on the rapper and proves that the Lean phenomenon is not going anywhere.
Don’t miss your chance to catch Baauer & Yung Lean, supported by local favourite Collarbones.
