POP LEVI
Australian Tour June 2007
Civil Society is proud to announce Pop Levi‘s Australian June tour, in celebration of his debut solo album ‘The Return to Form Black Magick’.
From beginnings as part of Super Numeri and Ladytron, it didn’t take long for Ninja Tune to sign Pop Levi on as a solo artist. This was an opportunity for Levi to branch out and experiment with his own vices, which turned into something fantastically contagious.
‘The Return to Form Black Magick’ was recorded in an abandoned warehouse and the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral, picked up elements of ’60s rock, disco, and folk, and was presented in a sound-collage format; more than a decade of home recordings dot the tracks. Levi moved to the U.S. with his band in last year, in time for ‘The Return to Form Black Magick Party’ to enjoy a world-wide release.
