THE ARMY, THE NAVY
Australia May 2027
Handsome Tours are proud to present The Army, The Navy!
After selling out their debut Australian visit in 2025, harmony-driven indie-pop duo The Army, The Navy return in May 2027 with The Fake Brave Tour. The Los Angeles-based pair are back for their biggest run here yet, a five-date national tour taking in first-ever shows in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, plus larger rooms in Sydney and Melbourne.
The duo have barely stopped since debut album Fake Brave Life landed in June. They opened the Allianz stage at Lollapalooza in Chicago’s Grant Park in July, and head out in October on a 25-date North American headline run stretching from Sacramento to Los Angeles, with stops in Seattle, Vancouver, Toronto, Boston, Brooklyn and Washington DC. Before that came their Gentle Hellraiser tour, which sold out most of its US dates, and support slots with Dora Jar, Paris Paloma and Matt Maltese. By the time they land in May, these songs will have been road-tested across two continents.
The pair had known each other most of their lives, but only grew close as undergraduates in New Orleans, where both studied songwriting. They now live together in Los Angeles and still write the way they did as roommates, gathering verses in a thick clothbound notebook they call “the Bible.” The songs they’ll bring to Australia come from an album the duo describe as their most existential and intentional to date, a chronicle of what it feels like to take a risk and fake bravery in service of a dream. “You have to be brave to put out your music into the world, and know some people will not like it,” they say. “Faking that bravery for enough time translates to true courage.”
Recorded in Athens, GA and New York City with producers Drew Vandenberg (Faye Webster, Of Montreal, Toro y Moi) and BLEACHERS’ Mikey Freedom Hart (Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, The Chicks), Fake Brave Life grew from an intimate process between two friends into a full studio production with session musicians and a string quartet, following their 2024 EPs Fruit for Flies and Sugar for Bugs.
Fans can expect a magnetic performance of life-affirming harmonies and crystalline vocals, delivered by two voices that lock together the way only a lifetime of singing side by side allows.
